Thanks to everyone who attended our Christmas Party Fund Raiser!

It was a great success. Now, our sites are set on developing a Household Embassy Neighborhood Study Group Curriculum. Video clips and interviews for the new curriculum are set to be captured during our first annual Household Embassy Workshop, scheduled tentatively for March 11th & 12th of 2011.

We are looking for a good church facility that is already set up to video tape Gregg Harris as he presents the core material in eight 45 minute sessions to a live, enthusiastic audience, somewhere in or near the Portland Metro Area.
If you have any leads on such a facility, contact us at info@householdembassy.org.  Thanks.

Calling All Ambassadors! Let's Party!

Don't Miss our Household Embassy "Black Tie" Christmas Party

We Will Gather At the Home of Gregg Harris, this Thursday, Dec. 16th, From 6:30 to 9:30 P.M. Please come!

Good news! The Household Embassy Movement is off to a great start. Attendance has been rising each month (from 15 up to to 75 people). The households of believers are being mobilized and opened up to serve as Embassies of the Kingdom of God. The gospel is being presented clearly and compassionately in every event.

But now, because of our success, we will need your monthly support more than ever.

So, let's have a party!

Join with other like-minded believers in support of our monthly Household Embassy Banquets (and other new evangelistic adventures on the drawing board). This will be our first ever Ambassadors "Black Tie" Christmas Party.

Black tie? Well, just dress up in the closest thing you have to a tuxedo and formal gown (be stylish, creative, funny or all three). Include your children. (Jesus did.)

If you can, bring along a plate of your favorite Christmas cookies, pie or pastries to share and plan to enjoy an evening of Christmas music, desserts, coffee, eggnog and partnership in the Great Commission. This is a dessert party.

Midway through the night, Gregg Harris will briefly present our team's new, more focused vision for 2011. (By the way, several major breakthroughs have taken place in just the last month.)

Bring your whole family, your like-minded friends and any others who really care about the spiritual needs of the people around them. Jesus is well able to save anyone from anything at any time in any place, turn them into an ambassador for Christ and make their home an embassy of His kingdom in this world.

We will gather at the Harris home, located at 6920 SE Hogan Rd., Gresham, OR 97080 (on 242nd Ave. just a quarter mile north of the Persimmon Country Club) at 6:30 P.M. The party is free of charge, but please make your RSVP online at www.householdembassy.org/register.

Get excited about what God is doing!

Childlike

posted Sep 23, 2010 11:37 PM by Chris Behnke

I often come home from work tired looking forward to downloading the day and taking a breath. But when I open the door my three little kids (4, 3, & 19-months) come running to me screaming, "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!" I sometimes don't fully engage them like I know I should and express the joy they are expressing to me. Why is that? Why do I not have childlike faith and excitement? Why do I not live intentionally for Christ all of the time and be the example I know he wants me to be...especially with my own children?

I challenge you to dig deep when you pull into your drive and blow your kids/wife/family away with your sheer commitment and love for them, especially when your mind and body is tired. It is often then that they need it the most! Greet them as you would want to be greeted, love them like you want to be loved, and live intentionally for them as Christ has commanded you. Press on.

Refining Our Mission & Principles

posted Sep 8, 2010 9:50 PM by Gregg Harris

This last few days I have been refining the Mission Statement and the Guiding Principles that are intended to define the Household Embassy Movement as a movement within and among the churches. There is a healthy tension between saying too much and saying to little. I want those who visit our site to get the impression that we are a serious, doctrinally sound movement within the Evangelical church community. But at the same time, I don't want to scare people away by sounding too radical. So, what do you think? Read over the Principles following our Mission Statement and post a comment on what you think. Does it flow from one idea to the next? Does it build to a clear conclusion?  Is anything missing? Am I saying too much? Help me get this right.

While you are here, be sure to RSVP for our 2nd Household Embassy Banquet tomorrow night. Bring a few friends as well. Gotta go.  Gregg Harris

Dear Friends & Fellow Ambassadors for Christ,

Our efforts in launching the Household Embassy Movement are bearing good fruit. The momentum is growing.  People are hearing and understanding the Gospel for the first time in their lives.  Believers are waking up to the reality that their homes really are embassies of the kingdom of God.

It doesn't matter where you live.  You can live as an ambassador for Christ.  Its not a matter of money. It is an issue of the heart. In fact, God delights in making provision for those who are willing to be generous and share what they have with others

In our last Household Embassy Banquet we had over 60 in attendance - many joining us for the first time! We are aiming for 80+ attenders at our next banquet on September 9th at the Persimmon Country Club in Gresham at 6:30 p.m.

That evening, I plan to share four key strategies for making your home an effective embassy of the kingdom of God. You will learn how any family can practice hospitality and allow others to "taste and see that the Lord is good." Plus, all four of these strategies have been proven to be practical and fun for the entire household!

So, how about it? Can we gather 80 friends, neighbors and co-workers for a feast that will nourish body, soul and spirit? The Household Embassy Banquet makes a great "date night" for couples, and this month we are going to add a delicious dessert. What does it cost to attend? Nothing at all. It's free, and its not a fund raising banquet.

How is that possible? Well, certain believers in our community from various churches and businesses believe in what we are doing enough to support this doctrinally sound, culturally-respectful evangelistic revival. You can support us by attending for the first time, bringing along a friend, or by joining our host team and helping us sponsor the banquet.  However you wish to serve and use your embassy, we would love to have your help and your input.

We hope to have these banquets on the second Thursday of every month, and we really want you to attend. Will you bring a friend, or two or more? Will you even take a step toward helping us out in some way? We hope you will join us in this adventure, but it’s your call.

Remember, the Household Embassy Banquet will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. this Thursday, September 9th at the Persimmon Country Club in Gresham. Admission is always free. Just go to our web site to RSVP as soon as possible so we can plan food enough for everyone.

Thanks for being a friend to this fledgling movement in our community. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you in person on September 9th.

Yours for the glory of God and the good of others,

Gregg Harris

Save the Date - September 9th Household Embassy Banquet

posted Aug 25, 2010 8:28 PM by Chris Behnke   [ updated Aug 30, 2010 9:22 PM ]

Throughout history, God has done BIG things, amazing things. He has done things that people said couldn’t be done, and He used regular people like you and me to do it.

If you had the opportunity to attend the first banquet, we hope that you enjoyed the fellowship, teaching and inspiration, and want to thank you for taking time to come. It was very encouraging to see all of you there, we are excited to see how God is going bless this!

Gregg Harris did an excellent job of presenting the gospel and laying the foundation for what God has called each one of us to be?!!  The core message of
2nd Corinthians 5:20 is simple: We are called to be ambassadors for Christ, and if we are His ambassadors, then our homes are to be used as embassies for His people!

Our
next banquet is coming September 9th at 6:30-8:30 P.M. at Persimmon Country Club, in Gresham, Oregon. We hope you will join us for more wonderful food, vision, inspiration, and practical direction.  Gregg will be our speaker again, and he will expand on the first banquet’s message with more practical insights about “how to use your embassy” and what that actually looks like in the real world.

We believe that God is building something meaningful through this movement.
Please take a minute and RSVP so we can plan for the upcoming event.  Don’t forget to invite friends and family that you think would be interested in learning how to use their homes as an embassy.

Do you want to know how to help?
Here are some things you can do!

Pray!
  - Pray that we are able to hear God’s direction in the feedback we receive. Pray for sponsors to help finance this effort as it moves forward.  Pray that God’s will is done and His glory is revealed as we work to help spread the truth.

Nominate someone to share at an upcoming banquet
  - If you know someone who exemplifies positive example of using his or her household as an Embassy for the kingdom of God send an email to banquet@householdembassy.org.

Invite people
now to the next event - What a great way to present the gospel outside of a traditional church setting!  We want these events to be for all people: strong believers, non believers and all those in between! The more we fear God the less we fear man, the more we fear man the less we fear God.  Let’s make sure no one misses out because of our fear of man.

Sponsor an event -
Our banquets are not fundraisers. They are opportunities for us to encourage people to become ambassadors and active participants in God's work on earth.  It is our goal to continue to be able to offer these events for free, so if you have the means and you feel passionate about what God is doing with this movement, please consider sponsoring part of the next event. To find out more, please email donate@householdembassy.org.

Remember, this is a free event, so save the date! We had a great time at the last banquet, and we would like to see even more people at the next one!

RSVP
here, and we’ll see you there!
